Virex contains an insecticidal baculovirus (cydia pomonella granulovirus) that is specific to the larvae of the codling moth (cydia pomonella). Because of this specificity, virex gives the ability for biological control of codling moth without harmful effects on humans, domestic animals, wildlife, beneficial insects and plants.
Virex must be ingested by larvae in order to be effective. Death occurs 3 to 7 days after ingestion of virex. Death may occur more quickly at higher temperatures.
Contains: 0.7g/L cydia pomonella granulovirus (equivalent to 3 x 10-13 GV/L) in the form of a suspension concentrate
