Through the month of September things will look a little different here at Grochem. We’re going blue in support of Blue September to raise awareness of prostate cancer in New Zealand.
Early detection and proper treatment is key with prostate cancer so raising awareness of this disease is one of the ways we can prevent the huge number of deaths every year caused by prostate cancer.
Through this project Grochem will be running a campaign through the month of September across our digital channels, and making a financial contribution to support the work of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand.

1 in every 8 men in New Zealand will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.
600 of these men every year, will die from the disease.
That’s your mates, fathers, sons, brothers, grandfathers, and partners.
We can bring this number down – but we all have a role to play
- Learn more about prostate cancer. Awareness is a major factor: Typically men don’t know how dangerous this disease is and they they don’t talk to their doctor about it, so take the time to learn more about what prostate cancer is.
- Learn the symptoms. Early detection is key. An early diagnosis and proper treatment saves lives.
- Perhaps the most important step is to get a PSA test every year. Men should undergo annual prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood test starting at age 50 or earlier.
- Talk about it – ask your dad, your mates and your brothers – “have you had a PSA test for prostate cancer in the last 12 months.”
- Join Grochem in making a donation to support Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ with the vital work they do.
